5 out of 5 stars Starcraft 2 = Awesome   July 31, 2010
Mason Kratz (Lemoore, CA USA)
This is not 1/3 of a game, and it is worth every penny of the $60 it cost. 20 hours of a sweet campaign and unlimited online multi-player. If the whole "no LAN" thing bothers you that much then just go and play SC1 on your e-machine and quit complaining and bringing down the ratings of a great game.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Experience   July 31, 2010

The single player campaign is a fantastic experience at over 20 hours. The cinematic's are of the usual high quality from Blizzard. The multiplayer is addictive, as much as the original Starcraft and all the Warcraft's if not more so. The new Bnet is a minor inconvenience that you will quickly forget about as you play the game. I have no idea why people continue to bad mouth good games over stupid things that don't effect game play at all. Much like the haters who dragged Spore down in the ratings we have seen a bum rush to ruin SC2's rating. It deserves a 5 out of 5, it's an instant classic and will be one of the most played games on the internet for a long time.

4 out of 5 stars YES YOU CAN PLAY WITHOUT BNET!!   July 31, 2010

Please refrain from thinking that you do not need battlenet at all to play. The point of this review is to let all those "1-star rating people" who made reviews about having to need internet access all the time to play. Now don't get confused and think you DO NOT need internet access to play, because you DO. The question people may ask is, "Do you need internet to play starcraft II?" The answer is yes and no.

Yes, you need internet access to register your game and activate it to play the game itself. Having internet is a must if you want to experience SCII at its full potential. You need internet to play multi-player and have access to your achievements and so on. To make my point clear, you're gonna need internet if you wanna have the most fun out of SCII.

No, you do not need internet for campaign mode. There has been a misconception that you need internet just to play single player mode. I have played campaign mode without internet quite a few times at work and on a road trip. So for those out there who have complained and whined about having to have internet just to play single player mode are wrong. You can choose to play offline. When you start up SCII and you do not have internet, a window will pop up asking if you want to play offline.

Overall I give a 4-star rating, because I've been a huge fan of LAN for awhile and it's not available anymore. Hopefully Blizzard will bring it back, but I'm actually okay without LAN, it's nothing to fuss over. SCII is a very fun game if you're a huge fan of SCI, because the gameplay is pretty much the same but with better graphics and new units. Campaign in SCII is ALOT more elaborative and interesting than SCI. If you're new to starcraft than, you will be very satisfied with your purchase. I hope my review is helpful!

5 out of 5 stars As much fun as the first, if not better!   July 31, 2010

After playing the beta, I was excited to try the single player campaign. I found it very fun and got challenging after a dozen missions on normal play. The multiplayer is a blast and holds true to the original game. Looking forward to going up the ladder!

1 out of 5 stars A great game ruined   July 31, 2010

I'm so disappointed at this long awaited release, I don't feel like writing a full review.

Please read other people's complaints because 95% of them are correct.

One quick complaint would be the over priced price tag for a third of the game. Ugh!
